Frequently Asked Questions:
-
How do I join the swim club?
-
We have an online swimmer informational form to start the process. You may need to fill out forms and will need to pay a membership fee for the club and to USA swimming.
-
-
What are the membership fees?
-
Fees are very relaxed compared to any of the other clubs in the state, but they can vary based on the clubs success of fundraising through the year. So when we send out that information, please be prepared to participate.
-
-
What is the schedule for practices and meets?
-
Practice schedules are posted on the club’s website or provided by the coaches. Meets are often scheduled on weekends but we occasionally have a weekday local meet.
-
-
What equipment do I need?
-
Basic equipment includes a swimsuit, goggles, and a swim cap. As your athletes progress, they may require additional gear like fins, or paddles. We often see swim bags, and swim parkas as extras in the winter.
-
-
Are there different levels or groups within the club?
-
Yes, we have different groups based on age and skill level, ranging from beginners to advanced competitive swimmers. We will automatically progress your athlete as they grow.
-
-
Can parents watch practices and meets?
-
Sure, we allow parents to watch, but we ask if your child is afraid of the water to stay away for the first several sessions so they can acclimatize to the environment on their own. But that is your choice.
-
-
What is the process for moving up to a higher group?
-
Advancement is usually based on skill improvement and coach recommendations. We move around our athletes based on group size, since we only have so many lanes in the pool.
-
-
Are there any volunteer requirements for parents?
-
We welcome parents volunteer at meets or other events. Depending on the level of volunteering, you may need to take some USA Swimming required (Safe Swimmer Education), but we can always have those discussions.
-
-
What is the swim club’s policy on cancellations or make-up practices?
-
Policies vary, so it’s important to check with the coach as your plans change. Please remember that we pay extra for athletes to enter meets and we need to know a couple weeks prior to ensure they are not on the meet sheet for that day.

-
How can I stay informed about club news and updates?

We use email newsletters, facebook - social media, and our website to keep members informed.
